In response to a query sent on India FII investment in corporate bonds, SEBI clarified their position and stated:
“FII debt investment limit is as follows:
Corporate debt in long term infrastructure : US $25 billion (20+5)Corporate bond: US $ 15 billion
So total FII debt limit in corporate debt is US $ 40 billion. $15bn limit for corporate bonds is outside of Us $ 25 bn limit and could be in infrastructure or non-infrastructure sector.”
