It has been reported that India seek foreig investment in the Energy sector because it is aiming to boost foreign investment in its renewable energy sector by establishing an investment promotion cell which will provide a single point of contact for investors.

The cell will reportedly be a window for potential investors to engage with government officials and bring their efforts and ideas to fruition.

According to sources, within the next five years, India plans to invest $50 billion in renewable energy: $19 billion in wind, $25 billion in solar and $3 billion each in the hydro and biomass sectors.
