It is being reported that India is set to permit India foreign investment of up to $10 billion in domestic mutual funds by foreign investors. Currently only non-resident Indian and institutional investors who are registered with SEBI are allowed to invest in Indian mutual fund schemes. The new measures are set to be introduced by the 1 August. This information will be updated as further details become available.
