The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to commence trading in currency futures. BSE plans to launch the currency futures platform, which will utilise new advanced trading technology acquired Deutsche Borse of Germany, by the end of November 2013.
BSE would be the fourth exchange in India to launch currency futures. The National Stock Exchange (NSE), MCX-SX and the United Stock Exchange (USE) are already present in the segment.
