HONG KONG: SFC Publish Hong Kong Short Selling Position Reporting Draft Guidance Note

A draft of the Guidance Note that the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) intends to publish in relation to Hong Kong short selling position reporting has been made available on the Commission’s website. This Guidance explains the SFC’s policy intent with regard to certain aspects of the Securities and Futures (Short Position Reporting) Rules and informs market participants how the Rules are intended to operate in practice so that they can structure their compliance process accordingly. Please note that the Guidance Note has not been published in the Gazette pursuant to section 399 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance and may be subject to change.
