Type: General

On 15th September 2017, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (Exchange) together published their conclusions to the joint consultation on proposed Amendments to Listing Regulations.

The main conclusions taken from the consultation is the definition of SFC’s role as a regulator.  The SFC’s role encompasses regulation, supervision and monitoring of activities carried on by the Exchange in addition to the regulating of listing rules.

In order assist the SFC in these many tasks, a decision has been made to create a Listing Policy Panel which will initiate and centralise discussion of listing policies with broader regulatory or market implications.

However, it has been confirmed that the role of the Listing Committee will go unchanged.

Finally, the Exchange will conduct a separate consultation in 2018 on the review system for decisions of the Listing Committee.
