The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) will run a pilot test of the Short Position Reporting Service from 11 January to 10 March 2017 to facilitate market participants’ preparations for the expanded short position reporting requirements.
With effect from 15 March 2017, reporting will be required for reportable short positions in all designated securities eligible for short selling, specified by The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
The list of Designated Securities eligible for short selling is published on the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited`s website. Starting from 15 March 2017, the SFC will cease publishing the List of Specified Shares on its website.
